Brown and Fremont Ward, Discussing Christian Science and the Salvation of Men". It's dated 1925 and contains copies of letters written between the two men. I was struck by the affection between the two, although they disagree on what it means to be saved--Mr. Ward being Christian Science and Mr. Ward being OAL. If anyone wants these little pamphlets I would be glad to give them away.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8088717.post-79798002070395400422009-09-27T10:35:10.010-07:002009-09-27T10:35:10.010-07:00I've just started reading the first e-book, an...I've just started reading the first e-book, and I'm finding the section that describes the Readers and the theological climate Laestadius found himself in fascinating. While you can place Laestadius within the greater Reader movement, there was a lot more diverse theological views amongst various Readers than I ever imagined.Tomtehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08500352428811139358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8088717.post-40543103882397784672009-09-28T10:15:56.384-07:002009-09-28T10:15:56.384-07:00LLLreader: I have a book of Laestadius's &quo...LLLreader: I have a book of Laestadius's "House Postilla Sermons" with a foreword by Kaleb A. Wuollet published in Cokato Minn. March 5, 1894. In the forward he writes that the handwritten sermons were written for house gatherings, reading examinations, and communions by LLL. Further, the sermons were left to LLL's widow, who did not publish them. They were then given to her daughter Elizabeth, who sent them to her sister's daughter Selma and her husband, Albert Nelson in America, with the request that they be published. The translation and printing into English took place in 1939. Arthur Niska wrote an introduction in which he states "Laestadius was the angel who begin to cry at the dawn of the opening of the sixth seal. This thesis is supported by an earthquake having taken place at the moment when a slave of sin was released, by the power and merits of the Savior: or when the keys of the kingdom of heaven were again put into right practice. Rev. 6:12 Mattthew 16:19". The translators were Edward Sunberg, Alma Uskoski, and Arthur Niska. Does anyone want it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8088717.post-66686431967570385132009-09-28T10:45:25.183-07:002009-09-28T10:45:25.183-07:00I'd like that House Postilla if nobody else do...I'd like that House Postilla if nobody else does.
